One of the greatest revelations of GNM is that it answers the "why" behind diseases. I developed allergies in my 30's. They weren't life threatening, but no matter how many antihistamines I took, they wouldn't go away. The doctors shook their heads and stopped returning my phone calls. They didn't want to test me for what I was allergic to until I'd stopped reacting, and they couldn't get me to stop. So I started reading about "natural" remedies and began seeing a naturopath. With a healthy diet, I was able to keep most of the symptoms at bay, but still reacted from time to time. My food choices were severely restricted and I lived by a list of rules that I felt gave me some control over my body's reactions.
Then I developed rheumatoid arthritis, and some thyroid problems that lumped very nicely with my allergies into what were all classified as "auto-immune" disorders. In other words, my immune system had decided to attack me instead of the germs it should be attacking. This made no sense to me. Why would my immune system do that? I'm fortunate that the Rheumatologist I saw didn't believe that I had rheumatoid arthritis because I told her that I could control most of the symptoms with food, otherwise who knows what kind of drugs I would have been given.
Still more confused than ever, I began to look at the possibility that my health issues were the result of emotional problems that I needed to deal with. I had always been interested in psychology and read voraciously. I moved into "body work", and even studied to become a practitioner in modalities for releasing emotions using the body, and energy healing. As much as I loved the direction I was going, my health was still not 100%. A lot of the time I was good, but then something would flare up with no apparent cause. This created a lot of stress for me, because I thought that it meant there was still something wrong that I needed to fix, or I had more issues I needed to work on.
And then I found German New Medicine! It clicked with me immediately. It's so logical and scientific, while at the same time respectful of our bodies and their ability to heal. It's non-blaming and takes us away from the "victim" mentality that both medicine and psychology have become party to. GNM liberates us from the fear of "disease" that has become so prevalent in our society.
I now live a more relaxed lifestyle, not ruled by what I eat, or expose myself to. I still have a flare-up from time to time but it doesn't cause stress, it just provides an opportunity for me to discover another "trigger" that I can let go of. If I have pain or symptoms, I don't go through the list of possible "deadly diseases" I might have. I can appreciate what my body is doing and how it is helping me, and I can support the healing with rest and proper nutrition.
I see evidence of the validity of German New Medicine around me all the time, just listening to people's stories. In my practice, I strive to educate my clients about GNM, help them to see the emotional correlations to their symptoms and to understand the natural healing process they're going through - free from fear and panic.
Thank you Dr. Hamer! And thanks to Caroline for spreading the word!
